Terms of Service
Last updated: April 13, 2026
Acceptance
By using unfortunately.fyi you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. That's it. No gotchas.
What the app does
unfortunately.fyi connects to your Gmail account via Google OAuth 2.0 and scans your inbox for job rejection emails. All processing happens in your browser. We have no servers and store nothing on our end. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Your responsibilities
- You must have a valid Google account and be authorised to access it.
- You may only use the app for your own personal job search tracking — not on behalf of others without their consent.
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the app or any connected Google API.
- You must comply with Google's Terms of Service when using the Gmail API through this app.
Intellectual property
The unfortunately.fyi name, logo, and design are owned by the creator. The source code is provided for personal use only — you may not redistribute or resell it without permission.
No warranty
unfortunately.fyi is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees that the app will be available, accurate, or free of bugs. Rejections may still sting regardless of how well we count them.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, unfortunately.fyi and its creator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this app.
Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue unfortunately.fyi at any time, for any reason, without notice. Since all your data lives in your own browser, you can export it via CSV before that happens.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
